Guidelines for Children in Grades K-5

Guidelines for Children: Grades K-5

Children in grades K - 5 are not allowed in the building unless supervised by a parent or caregiver. If children are enrolled in a class or activity, only those in grades 4 and 5 are allowed in the building without adult supervision for a half-hour or less, before and after scheduled classes and activities. Children in grades 3 and under must be dropped off and picked up by a parent or caregiver immediately before and after all classes and activities.

Children in grades K - 5 who wish to spend after-school hours at the JCC without parental supervision must enroll in an after-school program or KidsPlace. A child of any age spending time at the JCC must be a JCC member, unless enrolled in a class. Children in grades 6 and older will receive JCC membership cards and may use the facility without adult supervision as long as they behave appropriately. When parents and children in grades 3, 4 and 5 wish to use separate areas of the building, the parent must sign in for him/herself, and must indicate where parent and child will be. We must be able to readily contact the parent in case of a problem or emergency. All children in grades 2 and younger must have a parent or caregiver at their side at all times while in the building.
